General Information

DNA Testing has become more and more popular over the past decade to prove a biological relationship between two or more people. The most common DNA test is a paternity test and is used to see if a man is the father of a child. Other relationship tests are used to see if you are related as sibling (brothers and/or sisters), grandparents and even aunts or uncles.

Paternity Testing

DNA Paternity Testing is used to determine if a specific man is the biological father to a specific child. A paternity test will analyze the possible father and child's DNA profiles. Then the 2 DNA profiles are compared to establish if there is a biological relationship.

Our paternity tests generally include a 21 genetic marker test. Each genetic marker will have 2 numbers which are referred to as alleles. A child will receive 1 allele from their mother and 1 allele from their biological father. A biological father should match the child with at least 1 allele in each genetic marker.

Options To Fit Your Needs

On Site Medical Services offers a legal certified court admissible test and a non-legal version that is not admissible in court and is for information only. A court admissible test includes positively identifying those being tested, taking their picture and everyone signing a consent form. A non-legal test is what we like to call a Peace of Mind test. It is used for personal knowledge only and could never be used for anything legal or official. The only difference is the paperwork involved and the need to have an official document. Both tests are equally accurate if the correct people are swabbed.

Legal Tests

DNA Tests performed for use in a court case, such as child support or immigration, require a legal chain of custody and testing in an accredited laboratory.

Chain of custody is everything that happens to a sample from collection to submission for testing. This process is followed to ensure integrity of the sample throughout the process. Once the results of the legal DNA test are provided, they may be used as evidence wherever needed. Whether they are used in a state, tribal, or federal court, or for an adoption or immigration through the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS), the results may be viewed as valid and accurate when the chain of custody process has been followed.

On Site Medical Services prides itself on the exacting attention it gives to your sample's chain of custody. Visit our website to learn more about the variety of legal DNA tests, including:

Paternity tests

Maternity tests

Immigration and Surrogacy tests

Adoption tests

Tribal enrollment

Estate tests (probate)

Twin tests

What is DNA?

The science of DNA profiling relies on technology that allows an individual’s DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) to be examined and analyzed. DNA is the genetic material that we all inherit from our father and mother and is considered the chemical blueprint that makes each of us unique. DNA is the chemical inside the nucleus of a cell that carries the genetic instructions for making living organisms.

We receive 1/2 of our DNA from our mother and 1/2 from our fathers. We are able to make a match without testing the mother. The greater the number of genetic markers examined the greater the strength of the genetic evidence and hence the final result. That is why it is always better to test the mother, but it is not required.

Through our experience in DNA testing and other personal diagnostics, we want to help people discover the truth and find solutions. On Site Medical Services is committed to providing you with the best service possible. We do DNA testing all throughout the country.

Family Relationship DNA Testing

On Site Medical Services provide nationwide DNA testing. Any location within North America, we obtain/make arrangements to have a donor swabbed. i.e alleged father in Orlando, and Child in Minnesota won't need to be in the same location to conduct testing.

Missing Parent Test Information

A missing parent test is used to test both paternal grandparents when the alleged father is not available for testing. This test is the next best test to perform if the alleged father is unavailable for a paternity test. The standard sample types for a missing parent test are buccal swabs. If these sample types are not available non-standard samples such as Fingernails, hair (with root/follicle), toothbrushes, etc. can be tested.

Grandparentage Testing Information

A grandparentage test is used to determine the statistical probability that an individual is the biological grandparent of another tested individual. The standard sample types for relationship testing are buccal swabs. If these sample types are not available non-standard samples such as Fingernails, hair (with root/follicle), toothbrushes, etc. can be tested.

Siblingship Test Information

A siblingship test is used to determine the statistical probability that two individuals are related as siblings. The standard sample types for Siblingship testing are buccal swabs.

Avuncular Test Information

An avuncular test is used to determine the statistical probability that an individual is the biological aunt or biological uncle of another tested individual. The standard sample types for relationship testing are buccal swabs and FTA (blood) card. If these sample types are not available, other non-standard samples can be used.
