Urine Drug Test

A urine drug test, also known as a urine drug screen or a UDS, is a painless test. It analyzes your urine for the presence of certain illegal drugs and prescription medications. The urine drug test usually screens for:

  • amphetamines
  • methamphetamines
  • benzodiazepines
  • barbiturates
  • marijuana
  • cocaine
  • PCP
  • methadone
  • opioids (narcotics)
  • and many others

A urine drug test can help detect potential substance abuse problems. A drug test identify drugs that are being misused.

Breath Alcohol Testing

Breath alcohol testing, often known as a Breathalyzer test, is generally administered to donors who are suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the test. Detection periods might range from a few minutes to many hours, depending on the quantity of alcohol consumed.

When you drink alcohol, it goes into your stomach and small intestines. It gets absorbed into our blood, which carries it through your body and into your blood. That number is known as your BAC.

It may go up as soon as 15 minutes after drinking. BAC is usually highest about an hour after your drink.

In every state but one, its illegal for a driver over the age of 21 to have a BAC  above 0.08%. As of December 2018, Utah’s BAC level was lowered to 0.05%. All states have zero tolerance laws for drivers under 21.

Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) Testing

Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) testing is a reliable method to help create a picture of alcohol consumption. It is a finger stick that is then sent to a lab for testing

Because PEth is only formed in the presence of ethanol, it is a reliable test method for determining alcohol use. This also means that it has a high sensitivity due to its direct relation to alcohol consumption. Unlike other indirect alcohol markers that can be found in blood, PEth is also reliable because it is not affected by medications and health problems.

Oral Fluid Testing

The second most commonly used screening method is oral fluid testing, which identifies recent drug use within the preceding 24-36 hours. Oral fluid testing, like urine testing, is appropriate for all testing purposes, from pre-employment to random to post-accident. Employers generally collect oral fluids under the direct supervision of the test administrator, which lowers the possibility of donor manipulation.

Confidential Testing

On Site Medical Services performs drug and alcohol testing in a totally discreet manner. We are concerned about your safety, therefore your testing results will not be made public. On Site Medical Services will not disclose any information including their names, date of birth, etc. You can rely on us.

Child Custody Drug Testing

In child custody cases, the most critical factor that a judge will consider is the health, living conditions, the physical safety and well-being of a child. When a judge is forced to make decisions about the custody of a child, where a child should live and who can visit or associate with that child; a judge will consider each parent’s living arrangements, employment status, lifestyle, past criminal violations, drug use, and other factors.

If you are concerned that a former spouse or partner is engaged in illicit drug or alcohol abuse and thus creating an unsafe and/or unhealthy environment for children, you have the right to request that they be drug and/or alcohol tested to be used as evidence.

If you want to get a voluntary personal drug test to have as part of your records for custody case, we can provide you with that service.

Hair Follicle Drug Test

A hair follicle drug test can determine patterns of illicit drug use or prescription medication misuse over a certain period — this is typically 3 months for hair samples that come from a person’s head.

Testers can use hair follicle tests to check for a specific drug, or they can test for several different drugs or drug classes.

A hair follicle test can detect up to 17 kinds of drugs.

Fingernails Drug Test

Highly stable, simple to collect, and easy to ship and store, fingernails provide a test sample that is at the cutting edge of drug and alcohol testing. Fingernails are made up of keratin, the same material that hair is made of. As the nail grows, substances can pass from the blood vessels below the nail into the keratin fibers where they become trapped.
